Buckle in and get ready to start your engines as we have a quick look into the French Grand Prix and what we can expect for the weekend!
Circuit Paul Ricard’s length is 5.842km, a race distance of 309.69km – 53 laps for Sunday. The current lap record is held by Sebastian Vettel (35) in 2019 with a speedy 1:32.740. The first ever Grand Prix at Paul Ricard taking place in 1971.
No sprint qualifying this weekend, we’re back to the usual schedule of three free practice sessions, qualifying and the big banger on Sunday. Should be fairly straight forward for tactics, but so much could interfere as we hit the half way mark of the championship.
We have lots of interesting things to cover this weekend, a potential heatwave in the forecast mixing with fourteen corners and two DRS zones. We’re in for a strategic weekend; but could there be drama due to the weather threats?
It will be fascinating to see how Scuderia Ferrari perform with the forecast, especially with Carlos Sainz’s (27) horrid finale to the Austrian Grand Prix. Could this be the weekend the Italian team finally have a smooth run with no apparent issues? Could they gain strong points to close the gap even more against reigning World Champion Max Verstappen (24)? I can’t wait to find out.
In 2021, we witnessed Max Verstappen take the win over Lewis Hamilton (37), with Sergio Perez (32) taking the last step of the podium. Who do you think is in the sweet spot to snag the top step?
