Inside The Mexico City Grand Prix 2022

As Formula 1 edge closer to the seasons end, they make a stop in Mexico to take on the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez circuit.

A 4.304km length circuit that first took place in 1963, and has recently had a contract extended through to 2025.

71 laps for the 305.354km race, where Max Verstappen (25) won by 16.555 seconds over then rival, Lewis Hamilton (37) in 2021.

17 corners and two DRS detection zones, a track with plenty of sharp turns and precision and one main straight. The fans creating a huge and exciting environment in the past; it should be great.

The current lap record holder is Valtteri Bottas (33) with a 1:17.774 equiped in 2021.

As Verstappen and Oracle Red Bull Racing have already taken the respective championship wins, the race is on for runner up between Sergio Perez (32) and Charles Leclerc (25).

This weekend is running under normal circumstances, three free practice sessions, qualifying and the race.

However it is forecasted to be overcast with scattered thunderstorms over the entire weekend. Fans can expect various strategies and wet conditions, causing for some interesting racing.

After Japan’s Grand Prix and the tractor saga, the wet weather could be a redemption for the FIA.

An unforgettable mistake seen during that weekend, especially considering the fatal history with the late Jules Bianchi in 2014.

With the championship fight now concluded on both drivers and constructors, there should be some stellar racing to be produced, with the stress no longer present for young Dutchman, Verstappen.
