The 2026 Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 begins tomorrow, where the usual beautiful Queensland sunshine is being threatened by heavy rainfall during a highly anticipated race weekend on the Supercars Championship calendar.

But before racing commences at 12:45pm AEDT tomorrow (23 October), the crew at Red Bull Ampol Racing revealed their incredible Gold Coast tribute for the opening round of the Finals Series within the Championship fight – where the top ten will consequently be knocked down to just seven qualifying drivers for that highly desired Supercars Championship title.

In a playful twist, Broc Feeney’s No.88 Ford Mustang was encased in a giant toy car-style box, before the never-before-seen Red Bull Summer Edition-inspired design was unveiled to the public after anticipation was built; a countdown clock ticked towards the stunning summer reveal.

As it stands, the top ten drivers qualified for the finals and the championship title are the following; Matthew Payne, Kai Allen, Broc Feeney, Will Brown, Chaz Mostert, Ryan Wood, Cameron Waters, Anton De Pasquale, and Jack Lebrocq.

Three of the above will be eliminated this weekend, heightening the championship stakes and causing a thrilling action packed weekend for fans. Finals in the Supercars Championship have proved to be anything but permanent; 2025 taught fans just how down to the line the championship now is with the implemented Final series, as heartbreak engulfed Feeney last season as Mostert was crowned Champion, taking the No.1 and placing it on his Walkinshaw TWG Racing Toyota Supra.

There will be just two practice sessions this week ahead of Qualifying and Boost Mobile’s Top Ten Shoot Out sessions. Two 250km races will take place this weekend, one on Saturday and the other on Sunday, both helping place the championship as we approach the BP Adelaide Grand Final.

Weather this weekend looks to be filled with heavy rainfall, thunderstorms that are anticipated to affect the action – the Surfers Paradise street circuit is already known for being rather tricky, wet weather will provide an added element to an already challenging track.

This week marked a spectacular Supercars showcase; Wednesday brought Will Brown and Broc Feeney proudly standing beside their newest summer inspired liveries under the famous Surfers Paradise arch.

The livery took inspiration from the newest Red Bull Sudachi Lime, marking a special new phase for Red Bull Ampol Racing as they make their first ever Red Bull editions-themed livery, with both drivers fully kitted out in matching team uniforms to accompany the debut.

The new livery draws on the striking yellow Red Bull can and its refreshing citrus flavour. Red Bull Summer Edition combines the sour-sweet taste of Japanese Sudachi with familiar lime, a subtle hint of pomelo and notes of citrus peel, bringing a taste of summer to one of Australia’s biggest motorsport weekends

Drivers took to media to express their excitement and appreciation for the special edition livery debut.

“It’s our first Red Bull Edition-inspired livery, which is really cool… the new livery suits the Gold Coast theme. A home race for me is always super exciting, so I’m just pumped to be back on the Goldy. It always feels a bit surreal seeing people
support me from home.” said Feeney.

“It’s awesome to get down here and check out the livery. It’s bright, it’s something different for us and you won’t miss us this weekend!”

“Both of us in the top four is a massive thing for the team. We need to keep it there and both work hard through this weekend, Sandown and Adelaide, to make sure we give the team the best chance to win the Championship.” shared Brown.

The exclusive Red Bull event kicked off with the viral Gold Coast sensations Those Carter Boys, best known as ‘Australia’s biggest fans’, took to the stage for a live Q&A with Feeney and Brown, getting the inside scoop on their race week tactics.

DJ’s set the tone, starting the celebrations as the iconic Surfers Paradise background enveloped those in attendance; live music continued to capture the summer fuelled vibes as attendees had the opportunity to sample Red Bull flavours.

Tune in to see the newly wrapped Red Bull Ampol Racing Ford Mustang’s on track, flying around the Surfers Paradise street circuit this weekend on KAYO and Fox Sports Ch.506.
